Darcy The Cove Essay Paragraph 3
One of the most severe causes of sickness in Taijii, Japan is mercury poisoning. Mercury poisoning started, when the Japanese fishermen and some of Japans people killing the dolphins. Some of Japans people were against this kind of sickness. There were two people who helped out ban dolphin meat, so that, these people would not have the kids worry about the lunches. These two people were why dolphin meat has been banned from school lunches. This event is significant in the film, because it helped out, by preventing deaths from mercury poisoning. In this matter, mercury poisoning should not have be going on in this world, or planet, that everyone wants to call a home.
Darcy the Cove Essay Paragraph 4
People should be more, and more sourceful, to help out the ones whom are against the killing of dolphins. Honestly, the killing of dolphins was getting so popular in Taijii. The Japanese fishermen were the cause of this harmful killing. The fisherman had killed dolphins using sticks, and then, cut up the dolphins, then sold the meat on the dolphins. The fisherman crews captain got fired was one event that happens in the film. This event is significant in the film, because the crew’s captain told his crew what to do. In this fact, the fisherman crew should not have killed the dolphins in the first place, and kill the other fish.

Darcy Decision Making
One decision made in the story was that Michelle decided to take off her wig. Another decision made in the story was that Rob decided to visit Michelle in the hospital. Michelle decided to let out a grin when Rob let out a grin. Michelle decided to get another IV needle. Michelle decided to trust Rob that he was going to visit her in the hospital. Michelle also decided to just relax and listen to the music that was playing. The final decision Michelle made was to break up with Rob, then Rob decided to say “no, you are too strong.”
In this situation I would agree with Michelle and just relax while waiting. Another thing I would decide to do to trust my friend if he or she said that they were going to visit me in the hospital. However, I probably wouldn’t decide to take off my wig if I had leukemia. If I was Rob I would decide to keep my promise and visit him or her in the hospital if they were sick with leukemia if I was late or not. The other way I would choose is to always stand by his or her side until they were feeling better. The last thing I would decide to do is to say that the person is strong- willed if he or she broke up with me, I would also remain strong and try to find my heart.

ARMX Persuasive paragraph Darcy
Hello there, are you interested in war, how about deadly weapons, well you have came to the right place. This place is actually a fair called the ARMX (Arms for Trading). At this fair you can buy weapons such as tanks, guns, and bombs. The ARMX has been held in Ottawa since 1983 and has been held there every two years. Since the Second World War, over 20 million people have died, most of them being in a “Third World” (poor) country. Canada has had the biggest role in the world arms trade. Altogether, Canadian arms have made an annual average of $300, which indirect and direct were sold. Just to let you know, even when a poor country buys these weapons, they are still harmful even if they don’t use them in war. Since the past 25 years, there were at least 138 successful military coups in the Third World. Well, I think you should join the army, because some of these military governments are being supported by your home, Canada, when they use Canadian electronic surveillance equipment, just so that they can control their population. If not, how about become a member of the government, because the government here in Canada claims to have a system controlling what weapons we can sell and can’t sell, as well as, who we can sell it to. Also, the government here in Canada, unlike the American government, has never revealed all the details of our military exports. Do you think about the world arms trade, because when we think about the world arms trade, we often see things such as: jet- setting billionaires as the villains? Except the real high- flying arms dealers here at this ARMX, are not sheiks and soldiers of fortune, but the middle-level bureaucrats in drab government offices.

Quest and Adventure
Quest and Adventure is a popular theme because it talks about people who are brave and are good leaders. Along this theme is Courage and Leadership. This is the theme that talks about braveness, which is another word for courage. I think that this theme is the best because it talks about people who have done dangerous things. Another way you can say Quest and Adventure is that it’s a journey to somewhere or a mission to do something. I’m sure that other people put this theme in many words, but all I have to say about the unit Quest and Adventure is that it deals with courage and braveness, as well as a journey to get control of these two things.
The book I am reading for DEAR is called BONE. Bone has courage in it by Thorn, Grandma Ben, and Fone Bone protecting their village from rat creatures. The rat creatures are led by their king and the hooded one. These creatures are trying to catch the Bone who bears the star on its chest. This Bone’s name is Phoney Bone. Phoney Bone has courage in him by him making up schemes just to get produce and so far he has failed with all of his schemes. Now, the villagers that live near Barrelhaven, are trying to get Phoney Bone, as well as his cousin Smiley Bone, because of the produce they lost from Phoney Bones schemes. Grandma Ben also has courage by her not telling Thorn, her grand-daughter about her parents. Then, Grandma Ben had found her strength, along with her courage, to tell Thorn the truth about her parents that got killed by rat creatures, even though she knew it would make both of them upset in the end.

Science Fiction
The characteristics of Science Fiction are that the theme’s real and it’s always talking about stuff that has either happened in the past or that may occur in the future. Science Fiction is made to warn people because this is always about something bad that can either seriously hurt people or kill people. It warns us of the dangers of technology because it wants the world to be safe and makes the planet earth and the life on it exist forever. An example of a warning is about what may happen on December 21, 2012. This is warning us that the world may be at its end when this day comes. I think that sometimes that Science Fiction is made just to scare people.
A radio play that fits in with Science Fiction is War of the Worlds. War of the Worlds was about people in The USA thinking that they may have spotted UFO’s. Also in this radio play it warns us that UFO’s could be spotted anywhere at any time. As well as that there could be funny looking creatures in these flying saucers, which is another name for an UFO. I find this interesting because I might have never spotted any of the things, or heard of any of these things, that are written in Science Fiction, but who knows I may hear or see some stuff in the near future. I also find this theme so interesting because if someone spots something it’s all in the news and always found in newspapers, sometimes even on the front page.

Fantasy
A Fantasy theme is a theme that’s taken to a brand new level with things that are make- belief and full of good and evil. Good and evil are the same as saying that there’s a protagonist and an antagonist in Fantasy stories. Fantasy is also the theme that makes you use your mind more to picture out what you think the story looks like. For example if it talks about dirty water you can picture something like a slue or swamp. Another example could be when it talks about a dark place you might be able to picture the woods or maybe even a basement. I find Fantasy hard to believe because you don’t know what the author’s going to try to throw out at you in a Fantasy book, but it makes you use your mind more than the other genres, and you also get better pictures when you can visualize something and someone else could visualize something totally different.
A book that fits in with the Fantasy theme is The Raven. The Raven fits the genre because in the story it takes you to a new stage when you find out that the raven can actually talk, but the raven only says the word nevermore, and the raven always says that word at the end of each stanza. The Raven also fits the theme because the raven always says the word nevermore at the end of all the man’s questions and that makes the man worry about his forgotten Lenore. I think that The Raven is so popular because it fits the theme the most. I also think that it’s so popular because it’s one of those books that you can talk about and wonder why exactly the raven makes the man worry so much.

The Unexplained
The Unexplained is a topic that no one really knows the right answers to; they aren’t solved because there are many possibilities for all of these things. A topic related to the unexplained unit is crop circles. Crop circles are announced unexplained because no one knows why we use these and what they are really used for. I found Crop circles the most unexplained because I didn’t know exactly if they existed in life and if crop circles do really exist I don’t know why people use them and if they are being used for the right purposes. Another topic that’s unexplained is aliens. Aliens are announced unexplained because you don’t know if they exist because they aren’t found anywhere on Earth. I also found Aliens unexplained because I was wondering if these creatures do exist and if these creatures do, then where exactly do they live and why do aliens come to earth?
A book that’s most unexplained is Ghost Stories of Saskatchewan. I find this book the most unexplained because you don’t really know if these particular stories are true or false. The important question surrounding this book is are these stories true or not? I think that this question is the most important to ask because it leaves you worried that these things could possibly happen to anyone, that is if the stories found in this book are true. I always ask this question first because it leaves me with the most worry when you don’t know if the story’s real or not. I would also ask this question first because if the story is real I would ask others if they had heard about the story and then ask them if they think that the story’s real or not.

Mystery and Suspense
Mystery and Suspense writing is basically writing that involves drama as well as surprise. Drama is the part in Mystery and Suspense that makes you want to read on. Surprise is the part of Mystery and Suspense that leaves you with a whole bunch of questions along with shock. Mystery and Suspense is a popular theme because it’s the genre that makes readers read on and that leaves readers with question. It’s also the theme that makes readers want to know what happens next. This is engaging for readers because the readers never want to put the book down, they just want to read until they finish.
A story that we’ve read that fits in with Mystery and Suspense is Frankenstein. Frankenstein fits in with Mystery and Suspense by that Frankenstein meets an old man that’s really friendly and then at the end it leaves you with surprise when Frankenstein soon dies from a whirlpool. This also leaves you with question wondering how Frankenstein was made and wondering what happened near the end. I also think that Frankenstein fits in with the theme because I never wanted to put the book down all you wanted to do was read, read, and read! Frankenstein was the book that leaved me with the most questions for example: Why was Frankenstein getting chased off by the mob and why did Frankenstein have to die in the end.
